STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Every question we’ve heard, answered straight.

Thirty questions, grouped by theme, each answered in two to five sentences. Where a page covers the topic in full, we link to it. Where the honest answer is that something is not decided yet, we say that plainly instead of hedging.

This page is for scanning, not reading start to finish. Jump to the section that matches your question below. Each accordion answers one question directly and links onward when there is more to know.

25% flat. The only commission rate that exists, snapshotted per ledger row.
One hour. How long a delegated session runs before it quietly ends.
USDC, monthly. Paid in batches, on Base by default.
Never credentials. No permission, ever, unlocks a client’s API keys.
Six fields. That’s all registration collects, no VAT or tax ID input renders.
20 per page. The Clients table’s display limit, not a cap on how many you can have.

Getting in

Eligibility and joining.

Who can register, what happens after you submit, and whether being a reseller and being someone’s client can overlap.

Who can apply?

Registration happens at the organisation level, and it needs to be an organisation manager who submits the form. There is no plan tier gate and no region gate anywhere in the flow. If you are not a manager, the form still renders exactly the same way, you only find out when the submission itself fails, so check your role before you start. See Getting started as a reseller.
No. There is no pending-review state anywhere in the reseller phase machine. Submitting the registration form takes you straight into the Certification Hub, where you study the modules and then sit the quiz whenever you are ready. See Getting started as a reseller.
No. An existing Actionist organisation registers itself as a reseller, there is no separate signup flow to complete first. The same account that runs your own workspace becomes the one that manages your clients’ workspaces too. See Getting started as a reseller.
Yes, and it is explicitly supported rather than an edge case. The Manage Reseller tab, which appears when your own organisation is managed by another reseller, is independent of your own reseller status. It stays reachable even if your own reseller access is paused, because being managed and being a manager are two separate relationships.
Not sure whether you’re an organisation manager? Check before you start the registration form. Submitting as a non-manager fails at the last step, with nothing earlier in the flow warning you.
Straight answers

Building the business.

The commercial questions, rather than the product ones. The Partner Program page covers these in more depth.

No. Actionist drives a client’s existing apps the way a person would, by clicking and typing, so there is nothing to program. The skill that actually matters is understanding how a business runs and what work is worth handing to an agent. The certification quiz reflects that. It covers agent configuration, prompting, skills and tools, and app connections, not programming. See Getting started.
The model is built so they do not have to take it on faith. You never see a password, an API key or a token, and that is enforced on the server rather than promised in a policy. On top of that, the client picks exactly which parts of their workspace you can touch, and can change their mind at any moment without asking you.In practice this makes the conversation easier, not harder. You can tell a prospective client that credentials are structurally out of your reach and then show them the panel where they control everything else. See Client permissions and Credentials and API keys.
No, and it is worth being clear about the difference when you pitch. You are setting up and running AI employees that do real work, and you keep managing them over time as the business changes. The software is what you build on.That is also why there are two separate lines of income: your own fee for the work you do, and the 25% on the client’s subscription. See How resellers work.
That depends on the client list you build and what you choose to charge, so there is no figure we can honestly quote you. What we can tell you is the shape of it.You set your own fee, which Actionist does not take a cut of. On top of that you earn a flat 25% of what each client pays Actionist, every month they stay. There is also referral income on partners you introduce, though that one is not tracked in the app today. Because the 25% recurs, each client you bring on adds to what the earlier ones are already paying, rather than replacing them.
Training on building agents and automating a business, sales resources for finding and winning businesses, and a private partner community alongside other Actionist partners. Certified resellers also get a Discord card in the dashboard’s help panel. There is also a Partner Index, a directory where approved partners are listed by city, industry and what they do, so businesses can find you. That is a programme benefit run outside the product, not a screen inside the app, so do not go looking for it in your dashboard.
Applying to the programme happens on the Partner Program page. Registering your reseller profile and taking the certification happens inside the Actionist app itself. Those are two different steps in two different places, which trips people up. Getting started walks through the in-app half.
Working with clients

Clients.

Limits, cancellations, and the one control resellers do not have over a client relationship.

No limit is defined anywhere in the product. The Clients table paginates at 20 rows per page, but that is a display convenience, not a cap on how many client workspaces you can link to your reseller account. See Managing clients.
This is not settled in anything we can point to in the product, and the honest answer is that we do not know how it resolves today. Do not promise a prospective client an outcome either way. Contact [email protected] before it comes up in a real conversation.
The relationship moves to a canceled state and appears under the Historical filter on the Clients table. Commission still pending for that relationship can be blocked from payout, but commission already paid is not described anywhere as being clawed back. See Revenue and payouts.
No. There is no control anywhere in the reseller interface to disconnect a client yourself. Disconnection is an Actionist administrative action, and the client’s own path is to cancel their subscription and start a new workspace. See Managing clients.
If a prospective client asks about switching resellers, or about being shared between two resellers, do not answer from instinct. Route the question to [email protected] before it becomes a promise you can’t keep.

Inside a session

Access and sessions.

How long a delegated session lasts, who can end it, and where it does and does not run.

About one hour. When it lapses, the very next request you make ends the session and drops you back on your own reseller dashboard, with no warning message beforehand. Save or apply your work as you go rather than leaving something half finished. See View as client.
No. Every client-scoped read requires the delegated session credential minted for that specific relationship, and your own reseller dashboard is deliberately built to exclude client billing detail. There is no side door into a client’s workspace from your own account. See View as client.
Yes, at any time, from their own Manage Reseller panel. Changes are resolved the next time a session is created, and the Refresh permissions button in the banner picks them up immediately, without you leaving the workspace. See Client permissions and access.
No notification exists anywhere in the product today. Every action you take is recorded on the server, but that record is not currently surfaced to either you or the client inside the app. Tell the client yourself when you start and when you finish, rather than assuming they can see it.
Both. The entire reseller surface, from registration through delegated sessions, works identically on the web app and the desktop app. The one exception is signup referral attribution, which only has a web entry point and nothing on desktop.
A revoked permission behaves more gently than an expired session. It locks just the affected area and leaves the rest of your session running, rather than ending the whole thing. See View as client for the full picture.
The boundary

Credentials and security.

What a reseller can never see, what happens when an app needs a client login, and how secrets are stored underneath it all.

No, and it is not a permission a client could grant even if they wanted to. Credentials sit outside the whole permission model, in a fixed restrictions list with no toggle attached to it. Every credentials endpoint refuses delegated access outright, and the Credentials Vault panel does not even render during a session, it is absent rather than disabled. See Credentials and API keys.
You cannot complete it. The control is disabled with the tooltip “Client action required” and the body “This app requires the client’s credentials or authorization to complete installation. Ask the client to install or connect this app directly.” That one step always belongs to the client. See Apps, tools and integrations.
Yes, on the server, one row for every action taken in a delegated session. It is not currently exposed for either you or the client to read inside the app, so be straightforward that it exists but is not visible yet if a client asks. See Credentials and API keys.
With AES-256-GCM encryption under a per-user key, which is itself wrapped by Google Cloud KMS. That wrapping key is never stored in plaintext, and the table the list endpoint reads from has no secret column at all, so a metadata read can never leak a value. See Credentials and API keys.
There is no human reveal endpoint for a stored credential, for you or for the client’s own team. The only plaintext path is a machine identity used by the product itself, and every attempt to reach it is audited, whether it succeeds or is denied.

Getting paid

Billing and money.

Who pays whom, how commission is calculated, and what protects a payout wallet from a costly typo.

The client pays Actionist directly, on their own subscription. You are paid a commission out of that payment, there is no reseller-side checkout or invoice you settle yourself. See Revenue and payouts.
A flat 25% of what the client pays Actionist. Each row in your ledger snapshots the rate that applied at the moment it was created, so a rate change later never rewrites history already earned. See Revenue and payouts.
Payouts run in monthly batches, in USDC, to a wallet address you configure yourself. Base is the default network, with Ethereum, Polygon and Arbitrum also offered. Rather than a fixed date, check the Next payout tile on the Revenue page and treat it as an estimate. See Revenue and payouts.
The product makes this hard to do by accident: you enter the address, re-enter it, tick three acknowledgements, then confirm it a second time by retyping. That protects against typos, but it cannot recover funds already sent to a well-formed address that is simply the wrong one. See Revenue and payouts.
No. Every reseller-facing money response is deliberately shaped so client billing detail cannot appear in it. The Billing summary permission, the most a client can grant, gives you aggregate plan usage only, never a card number or an invoice PDF. See Client permissions and access.
The ledger’s Pending and Paid counts reflect only the rows currently loaded on that page, not your full history. Page through if a total feels off before assuming something is missing. See Revenue and payouts.
When you’re stuck

Support.

Where to go for help, whose account a bug report lands on, and what is not built yet.

Three places. The Knowledge Center tab in the app loads these exact docs without leaving Actionist, the reseller Discord card on Overview links out to a private community, and the general Support area handles anything broader. See Reseller dashboard overview.
It goes to your own reseller account, not the client’s. The app says so explicitly: “This report goes to your reseller account,” and it appears in your own support section afterward. The client never sees a bug report you filed on their behalf.
Coming soon The screen exists in the code and renders fixture data, but it is deliberately hidden from the sub-navigation today. Treat it as not available rather than looking for it. See Reseller dashboard overview.
Yes, a private Discord for certified resellers, linked from the help panel on Overview. It is separate from the general Actionist community and scoped to reseller-specific questions.
The Knowledge Center tab and this page are the same content. If you’d rather stay inside Actionist while you read, open the Knowledge Center at /reseller/docs instead of switching to a browser tab.

The quiz

Certification.

Retakes, expiry, quiz language, and why we point you at the Hub instead of quoting a fixed number.

This is not defined in anything we can see in the product. The Certification Hub shows no attempt counter and no cooldown timer anywhere in its interface. If your retake button stays disabled for no visible reason, that is a case for Support rather than something to guess your way around.
No, there is no expiry mechanism anywhere in the reseller phase logic. Once you are certified you stay certified until an administrator changes your status, there is no periodic recertification to track. See Getting started as a reseller.
Whatever your app language is set to at the moment you launch it, from seven options: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, 日本語 and 中文. It cannot be changed once the quiz is running, the language control inside it is permanently disabled. Set your language in Settings first, then launch. See Getting started as a reseller.
The Certification Hub shows you the exact question count and pass threshold before you start, and both numbers come from the server rather than being fixed in advance. Read that screen right before you launch, it is the only place we point you to for the current numbers. See Getting started as a reseller.
One more thing

Still stuck?

This page covers judgment calls, not every message you might see on screen. For the exact wording of something you’re staring at right now, the troubleshooting guide indexes every message, what it means, and whose problem it is.

Questions about the reseller programme itself, terms, disputes between resellers, anything these docs do not settle, go to [email protected] directly. In-app Support handles product bugs, not programme policy. See Troubleshooting.
